3aaa Apprenticeships have worked with employers including TaxAssist franchisees, Charles Wells and XPO Logistics to join an employer focus group to work alongside AAT, PWC, NHS and several other large organisations and SMEs , to design and develop our Accounting Apprenticeship Standards.

All 3aaa Apprenticeships’ courses in Accountancy combine outstanding classroom training, dedicated workplace mentorship and on-the-job experience to build the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviours to become a highly-competent Accounting professional.

Accountancy Career Routes

Accountancy Traineeship

The Traineeship is designed to allow all candidates to gain foundation accounting knowledge and workplace skills essential to all accountancy positions. Traineeships are an ideal stepping stone into the world of accountancy for anyone who does not have work experience within the accounting profession.

The 6-12 week traineeship programme includes

A minimum of 100 hours high quality work experience

An introduction into bookkeeping

Basic to Advanced Excel Training

An introduction to Ethics for Accountants

Employability sessions to gain the necessary skills for the workplace.

Functional skills in Maths and English (if required)

Eligibility Criteria

Aged between 16-24

Not qualified to or above Level 3 (equivalent to 2 or more A Level passes)

Working less than 16 hours per week

Not in any form of education or training

Minimum of 3 years EU residency

Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship (Level 3)

The Assistant Accountant apprenticeship programme is accredited by the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) and is a fantastic way to earn a salary while gain professionally recognised qualifications.

This Apprenticeship Includes

AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Bookkeeping

SAGE Level 2 Computerised Accounts (at employer’s request)

AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting AQ 2016

Training and Assessment

Classroom attendance tailored to Apprentice needs. On average, this equates to 24-30 days Academy based training over the first 12 months.

Skills and Behaviours Workshops

Masterclasses presented by industry experts

Assessor workplace visits every 8-12 weeks (from month 6)

A full week intensive course to prepare for the final AAT Synoptic Assessment

AAT End Point Assessment

Apprentices will learn

A range of complex accounting tasks, including maintaining cost accounting records and preparation for reports and returns. It comprises six mandatory units:

Classroom attendance tailored to Apprentice needs. On average, this equates to 24-30 days Academy based training over the first 15 months.

Masterclasses presented by industry experts

Assessor workplace visits every 8-12 weeks (from month 6)

Approved AAO End Point Assessment

Apprentices will learn

Apprentices will look at and become comfortable with a wide range of financial management skills and applications, and gain competencies in:

Drafting financial statements for limited companies

Recommending accounting systems strategy

Constructing and presenting management accounting reports

At the start of your Level 4 AAT Accountancy course, you will choose the route you wish to follow. We have tailored the following 2 routes to be specific to job roles that are common in accountancy teams and practices:
