On Friday 30th January, Sir Edward Garnier MP for Harborough, Oadby and Wigston visited the 3aaa Leicester Academy too meet the team and some of our Apprentices.
The Apprentices spoke to Sir Edward and shared their stories about how difficult it was to get into an IT role without having the experience and by undertaking a Level 3 advanced apprenticeship with 3aaa, they not only gained employment but a qualification alongside.
The team at 3aaa Leicester gave Sir Edward a guided tour and spoke about their desire to help young people in Leicestershire and he was delighted about how happy they all looked to be working in such a rewarding industry. The team also discussed how they help 16-23 year olds on their way to a career of their dreams and how we have recently achieved a Grade 1 ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted report.
He was also impressed by the fact that the Leicester Academy are also looking to expand their offering within Financial Services so that they will be able to reach more young people across the county.
Sir Edward Garnier MP commented: “It was a pleasure to visit 3aaa on Friday. Supporting Apprentices is a major Conservative policy and schemes like the one which 3aaa operates proves the value of apprenticeships for the future of young people.”
Claire Phillips, 3aaa Leicester Academy Manager, said: “I felt the visit by Sir Edward to our academy on Friday was very positive and he was very engaged both with the staff and the apprentices we had in that day. I would like to thank Sir Edward for taking time out of his diary to visit our academy and interact with both staff and apprentices alike.”
