George Osborne Promotes Apprenticeships in Gloucester: 3aaa Back Apprenticeship Campaign
Last week saw the Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, launch a most ambitious and significant Apprenticeship campaign in the county of Gloucester.
Throughout the year of 2016, the campaign Apprentice 1000 will train 1,000 young people and workers across both Gloucester and Cheltenham to help boost the economy and productivity of the county.
The Gloucester Echo and Gloucester Citizen, two local publications that have made this campaign a sensation could not be happier with the support that Apprentice 1000 has received. Matt Holmes, editor of the Gloucestershire Echo, added: “We want to make 2016 the Year of the Apprentice in Gloucestershire. There is so much energy in our business community already to support this as a route for young people but we feel now is the time to really make a difference for our young people and Gloucestershire’s economy.”
Speaking about the campaign, Chancellor George Osborne said: “Once again the Gloucester Citizen and Gloucestershire Echo are supporting young people and local businesses with the Apprentice 1000 campaign and I am delighted to give it my backing.”
“Apprenticeships are an essential part of our economy delivering the skills and expertise we need for a vibrant jobs market and fantastic opportunities for young people.”
“Britain needs a high-skilled workforce and I’d encourage all businesses in Gloucestershire to get involved in this important campaign so we can work together to deliver the three million more Apprenticeships around the country by 2020 this government is determined to see.”
The campaign has brought a lot of attention to the need for Apprenticeships in the area, and our team at the Gloucester academy are delighted that the local community is receiving so much recognition and support. The team, that opened their doors late August 2015, are dedicating all of their time and efforts into bringing life changing opportunities to thousands of young people across the county, as well as stressing the true impact a 3aaa Apprentice can make to numerous local employers.
With such avid support, the 2016 Apprenticeship landscape in Gloucester looks bright!
