40% of Finalists for East Midlands ‘Apprentice of the Year’ are 3aaa Apprentices!

The ‘Apprentice of the Year’ category is one of twelve awards presented by the East Midlands Chamber at their annual Business Awards. They present a variety of awards, highlighting achievements from both businesses and Apprentices. In the East Midlands Chamber Business Awards ‘Apprentice of the Year’ category, we have five Apprentices in the finals.

We pride ourselves in providing services which help people from across the county build on their professional and personal skills which help them build a career in a variety of professions. With over 40 training academies nationally, we work closely with local employers, helping them to identify a need for Apprentices within their business and how to utilise them in a way to benefit both them and the Apprentices.

Starting her Apprenticeship journey in January 2016, Lauren Lynch became a Level 3 Digital Marketing Apprentice for Creative Quarter, based in Nottingham. Louisa, Lauren’s Digital Marketing trainer and assessor, spoke about how Lauren’s enthusiasm and passion for the course was overwhelming. In February 2017, after her hard work and commitment on the Level 3 Digital Marketing course, Lauren progressed onto her Level 4 qualification and is doing incredibly well.

The National Construction Academy, part of 3aaa Apprenticeships, also has two Apprentices shortlisted for the ‘Apprentice of the Year’ award; Zac Walker and Zachary Beer.

Zac Walker, nominated by Willowstone Developments, is an Apprentice from the National Construction Academy shortlisted for East Midlands Chamber Business Awards ‘Apprentice of the Year’. Alison, from Willowstone Developments spoke about Zac’s approach to his learning and his future with the company;

“Zac’s outstanding performance enables small businesses such as ours to have a lifeline to support growth which will, in turn, give more opportunities to others starting out in their trades. We hope to retain Zac in our business at the end of his Apprenticeship and are confident that he will continue to grow and embrace further challenging roles. With his experience, we hope he can be a mentor to future Construction Apprentices within our business and one day adopt an even more significant role in the industry.”

3aaa Apprenticeships and the National Construction Academy work hard with employers such as Creative Quarter, Willowstone Developments and Hodgkinson Bricklayers to produce high quality Apprentices, who have built on their personal and professional skills, learnt about the Industry they work in, gained invaluable work experience with industry professionals and have been able to flourish in their chosen profession.

As well as Lauren Lynch and Zac Walker, we also have Zachary Beer from the National Construction Academy, Ollie Henderson from Purpose Media and Tom Lacey, who works at Mercia Image shortlisted for this award which is an amazing achievement for both our Apprentices and 3aaa Apprenticeships.

It is exemplary Apprentices like Lauren, Zac, Ollie, Tom and Zachary who have adapted, grown and shown clear ambition for what they do that have given them the opportunity to become Apprentice of the Year.
