3aaa Apprenticeship
Friday 18th November 2016
It’s that time of year again! Pudsey’s famous eye patch is in position and fund-raising events are happening across the country.
Here at 3aaa Apprenticeships, we’re joining in the fund-raising fun for Children in Need, just as our President of the National Construction Academy, part of 3aaa Apprenticeships, TV presenter Nick Knowles has done. Inspired by Nick, students and staff at our National Construction Academy have turned up the heat on fund-raising with their baking challenge.
As part of Children in Need, Nick and his team have been working on one of its most ambitious and heartfelt projects to date; they’ve transformed a Blackpool-based young carers centre from a run-down, neglected Victorian house, to a fun, safe and supportive environment where young carers are able to enjoy their childhood. The transformation was documented in ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build BBC Children in Need special’ – You can view it on BBC iPlayer here or by clicking on the picture below
Nick Knowles is passionate about helping young people and this extends beyond his charity work – Nick was appointed President of the National Construction Academy in August this year to help young people secure careers in the construction industry, in partnership with 3aaa Apprenticeships.
Richard Irons – CEO at 3aaa Apprenticeships said “Supporting young people to have life changing opportunities is the foundation of what we do at 3aaa Apprenticeships so we are delighted to be hosting activities with Apprentices and employers across England, supporting Children in Need. Nick is a great champion of young people and his work with the National Construction Academy and charities such as Children in Need go a long way to raise money and awareness.”
