Investment Operations Mentor/Assessor

An Investment Operations Mentor/Assessor will have responsibility for the delivery and assessment of the Apprenticeship programmes within their subject specialism this may include levels 3 & 4 or above. This will be carried out at their designated site(s) as this is typically a field-based role, and will be based on the location/s of the Apprentices. They will be responsible for a caseload of Apprentice learners whom they will coach, assess and monitor the learning and progression throughout the duration of programme.

Trainers may act as Personal Tutors, assessors, internal quality assurers and assist with the recruitment and selection of apprentices.

Key Tasks and Accountabilities
·To deliver classroom-based and/or remote 1:1 sessions to Apprentices associated with the Management Apprenticeship Programme and level
·To continuously improve and update teaching resources within their remit and capabilities subject to internal quality assurance
·To use a range of teaching and learning techniques
·To provide Apprentices with support in the classroom and remotely on a 1:1 basis
·To assess Apprentice achievements
·To support and deliver functional skills English and maths at the appropriate level
·To ensure each Apprentice is following the agreed programme and schedule
·To actively support fellow members within the team
·To report Apprentice issues to their Line Manager
·To report to their Line Manager any disciplinary and/or classroom/learner management issues
·To mentor Apprentices to achieve and learn professional skills required for the work place in line with the appropriate Apprenticeship Standard
·To adapt delivery and assessment to meet the broad range of learning needs including the needs of those with learning difficulties and/or disabilities
·To monitor the progress of the Apprentices within their caseload
·To maintain appropriate tracking systems and procedures relating to quality, compliance, management and assessment in line with AO, Apprenticeship Standards, 3aaa and all other regulatory requirements
·To ensure your compliance with business systems and procedures
·To carry out and record regular Apprentice reviews as required
·To maintain professional knowledge in the subject/sector specialism and models of curriculum development
·To have effective awareness of raising attendance, retention and achievement
·To provide a professional customer service to external and internal customers
·To ensure that all the compliance and process requirements of funding partners are met in full
·To carry out regular on-site reviews of materials and delivery methods with the Curriculum Lead for the subject area and report findings
·To review Information technology and how it can be used to extend and enhance the programme
·To perform any ad-hoc duties that the Company considers to be reasonable.
·To be mindful of own personal safety and the safety of apprentices and colleagues in line with The Safe Guarding Policy and to report any areas for concern as appropriate
·Attend training courses to further your personal development and knowledge
·To embed British Values, Equality and Diversity, Employability and Health and Safety into all programme delivery
·To provide IAG at key points within the learning journey

Key Outcomes to be measured (KPI’s)
·Positive Apprentice relationships (reviews and Apprentice surveys)
·Level 2 achievement rate of 90%, Level 3 achievement rate of 80%, Level 4 achievement rate of 80%, Level 5 achievement rate of 80%
·To maintain 90% retention of Apprentices
·Delivery of all required guided learning hours for the programme in line with Learning Journey and SoW
·It is imperative that all documentation related to funding and audit requirements are 100% accurate and to ensure that all claims are made on time to the relevant funder
·Tracking and monitoring processes will be developed and embedded to ensure data and records are accessible and accurate
·To identify opportunities to enhance the work with our key stakeholders
·There will be a responsibility to keep CPD detail live and this will be subject to internal and external quality assurance

Qualifications and Knowledge
Essential
·Appropriate Investment Operations & Financial Services qualification at level 3 or above
·Ability to teach and assess at all levels of subject specialism/s required to fulfil the role
·Relevant sector/subject specialism qualifications
·Relevant occupational competence
·Hold or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational (TAQA L3). A1 D32/33 acceptable providing practice/CPD is cup to date.
·Focused on achieving outstanding retention and achievement rates
·Overall sound educational background
·GCSE Grade C or above English and Maths
·Be confident and comfortable supporting Functional Skills English and Maths with apprentices on a 1:1 basis

Desirable
·Previous IV experience
·Previous experience delivering both financial and management accounting elements
·You will be rated as ‘excellent’ as a Trainer evidenced by learner feedback
·The Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice.D34 or V1 acceptable providing practice/CPD is up to date. Or willingness to work towards TAQA L4.
