IT Apprentice – Castus Design

IT Apprentice – Castus Design

I first heard about 3aaa at the start of last year, and have to admit I wasn’t keen on the idea of going down the apprenticeship route due to my age. To be honest, the idea of studying again seemed like a lot of work! But, after visiting the 3aaa website and reading more about the different types of apprenticeships, the idea grew on me. It actually seemed a lot more appealing considering that I’d always wanted to get into working in the IT industry.

After making an enquiry into one of the apprenticeships, I received a call more or less straight away. I was invited to an interview at the Sheffield academy. This process proved extremely helpful. It gave me the opportunity to talk about my previous work experience and combine this with my interest in various aspects of the IT industry, particularly web design. Following my interview I was put forward for the Level 3 IT Qualification with 3aaa. At the same time attended an interview with Castus for a project planner vacancy that I had been recommended for by my recruitment executive, Caroline.

The interview couldn’t have gone better, and I knew straight away that Castus was where I wanted to start my career. A year on, and I’ve progressed from shadowing my colleagues and managing smaller projects, to managing clients, planning bespoke websites, and supervising other project planners.

Apprenticeship Begins:

After working as a commercial executive for Castus for the past year, I have now completed my Level 3 IT Apprenticeship with 3aaa. I’m amazed with how much my role has progressed and how much I’ve learnt throughout this interesting process. I just can’t wait to see what my new career with Castus will bring.

I couldn’t be more grateful for the support and guidance that I’ve received here. Both from 3aaa and Castus have helped me to kick start my career, and I’m so glad that I came across this opportunity earlier last year. I’d recommend apprenticeships to both employers, as it benefits their business, and also candidates that are looking for a career rather than just ‘a job’.
