Cyber Security Risk Analyst Level 4

Course Overview

Our Level 4 Cyber Security: Risk Analyst Apprenticeship gives apprentices the chance to learn within a working environment and develop the personal development skills required to work in a Cyber Security role. Following the programme, Apprentices will cover digital security and, more specifically, knowledge and understanding within risk assessment.

Over the course of this Level 4 Apprenticeship, participants will cover topics such as cyber security principles and techniques, laws, standards and regulations that surround cyber security, analysing and evaluating threats and hazards.

Modules

Module One

Introduction to Cyber Security

Participants will learn why cyber security matters, basic security theory and how it can be applied to typical information and communications technology (ICT) cyber infrastructures, the concept of security assurance and how security objectives can be used to build a security case.

Module Two

Risk Assessment

In this module, participants will learn how to manage information, risks and threats efficiently and effectively, whilst covering the differences between threats and vulnerabilities and learning about factors relating to the standards surrounding cyber risk assessment.

Module Three

Governance, Organisation, Law, Regulation and Standards

Participants will learn about the need for appropriate governance, organisational structure, roles, policies, standards and guidelines for cyber and information security, how they work together to deliver identified security outcomes and how they are supported.

Learning & Assessment

Over the course of the 15 month Apprenticeship, learners will receive close training from their 3aaa trainer in one of our 38 training academies.

During the academy sessions, Apprentices will be covering a range of modules that will be tailored towards their roles and responsibilities, learning about the concepts behind their tasks within the workplace and being able to develop themselves with key industry experience.

Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include A levels; a level 3 Apprenticeship or other relevant qualification; relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths.

Hire a Cyber Security Apprentice

Hiring a cyber security Apprentice will support your business’s cyber security needs, providing internal support to your organisation.

We can work with you to source a suitable applicant for your business or you can up-skill your existing employees. If the employee is under 19 and your business has less than you employees, there will be no cost for the training. If they are over 19 and/or your business has over 50 employees then you will contribute 10% towards the cost of the training.

National Insurance Contribution rebate for Apprentices

Did you know that you could claim back the National Insurance Contributions for your Apprentices depending on their age? If your business has hired an Apprentice since 6th April 2016, who is aged under 25 and is enrolled on an Apprenticeship, you can claim back your National Insurance Contributions for them. Depending on the salary of your Apprentice, this could amount to a significant saving. By changing your employer contribution category for Apprentices who meet these criteria you will save your business money.
